You'd better be good...

Or Officer Autumn will throw your arse in the slammer!

Hi everyone. I hope you're all having a lovely spring season! We certainly are. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching life slowly reemerge with the turning of the wheel.

I've been so absent from blogger lately, I'm feeling completely disconnected from all of you, which I hate. Simply put, I'm having a massive writer's slump. I have so much going on in my life, I'm having a hard time actually organizing my rampant thoughts into cohesive entries. Brain overload, perhaps? Probably so. I thought I'd try to remedy the situation this morning, however. :)

To my Pagan friends, belated Beltane blessings to you! This, my second Beltane as a practicing Pagan, was especially poignant to me as it was also my year and a day celebration. Yay!

And more good news! If everything goes as planned, we should be closing on our home one day next week! :D I'm really looking forward to tackling the renovations and actually painting the walls colors I've chosen myself, as opposed to staring at the white/cream walls standard in most apartments and townhouses. I do have a question for all you interior decorating geniuses out there..if the walls are sage green and the blinds are dark bamboo...what color should the couch be? And the curtains? I keep thinking an orange/coral/salmon colored couch would be lovely. But maybe too much? Feel free to give me your opinions as I'm always open to new ideas. I'm also interested in landscaping ideas. I'm aiming to give the house a real cottage-type feel and find I'm most drawn to flowers in oranges, reds, and yellows. Oh, and I DO NOT like roses. I'm an odd duck, I know. I live in Zone 6.

Take a gander at my upper left sidebar. Do you see it? It's a lovely new button provided by Stephanie of Dirt and Lace Designs. I won this free button as part of a promotional contest she held on Facebook and I couldn't be happier with the final result. So cute! Thanks, Steph!

Unfortunately, the good news stops there. As I sit typing this entry, my son is once again sick with a stomach virus. We've all been awake since 5 AM, which is when the puking started. Do I even need to tell you how tired I am of puke? ::sigh:: This past month has been a real puke-fest in our home. The kids keep passing the bug back and forth and it truly seems never ending. With Parker, it's particularly heartbreaking. Losing control of his body scares him and overstimulates his nervous system. He's been very teary-eyed which breaks my heart. Please send healing energies his way, won't you?

Doug's 31st birthday is Friday. I'm excited about his surprise. Are you dying to know what it is? Are you? Are you? ;) Never fear, dear reader. You will know soon enough, I promise.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves and avoid all stomach bugs! (Seriously, avoid them like the plague. They're nasty!)

I'd be scared of Officer Autumn, if she just wasn't so darn cute! : D

She's so cute. I can't stand it.

I love the idea of the orange/salmon couch. Love it. I'd brighten the room with cream colored accents (curtains, knickknacks, pillows) and maybe throw in plum something here or there.

Yay! (I'm living vicariously through you and your move. That's two of my peeps I'm doing this with.)

Paint your house the colors that make you happy.

sorry to hear Parker is still sick. Eventually his immune system will take over.

Nice to see you back.

I wish I could offer some decor advice but I've stayed pretty monochrome in general, White walls, white couch (not so white after 10+ years) and black shelves.I like calendulum flowers myself, bright yellows and oranges and they attract bees which is always a plus.

Healing energy on it's way from over here, I hope everyone can keep that bug at bay.

I would keep the couch neutral so that if you change the colour scheme in a few years all you have to do is change your accent pillows etc. and not the couch.
As for plants...oh, there are so many lovely plants. But you need to provide some more details like full sun/shade etc. and think of themes like herb garden, woodland garden etc. hope that isn't just adding to the chaos. and I hope Parker is better soon. My stomach has been weird for weeks now and it's driving me crazy but puke is a whole other thing. blessings. can't wait to see your new place. I'm living vicariously through you right now.

Hiya Boo!
It's been so long since I have had a chance to stop in and say Hi!

Sorry to hear that Parker is sick- stomache bugs suck!(although I hope that he is better now.)And healing love has been sent your way- to Parker AND the rest of you!

Autumn is a doll as usual! And Happy Belated B-Day to your hubby Doug.

SUPER BIG CONGRATS to you all on the new home. (You are gonna have a ball decorating the house & planting up the garden.)

As for colors- (since you asked!- LOL-) I second the Lady who mentioned keeping the furniture nuetral. You can always add lots of color thru slip covers, pillows, walls & decorations. That way, the big purchases don't need to be 'redone' as your color moods change.

As far as the garden- fill 'er up with plenty of herbs to use in both the kitchen & in craft work. As well as easy to grow flowers in your favorie colors. Make sure to plant lots of perenials- so that they will come back year after year.

(I'm a big geranium nut, myself- here they last all year...and ya just can't kill 'em! Plus- you can start new plants by just snapping a peice off of the old and sticking it in the ground.)

All righty then Love 2 U & The Crew... take care.
