Lucky

My luck is changing. I'm convinced.

Awhile back, my dear, sweet Brandi held a competition on her blog, Excess Baggage. The prize? A $25 gift certificate to Amazon...and I won! I was able to order my sweet boy a case of his tapioca bread with that certificate and I was [am] so grateful.

For those of you who are new to my journal, Parker, my son, is on a specialized diet to help recover him from autism. It's working beautifully along with supplementation. He's gluten/casein/and mostly soy free. His food is incredibly expensive, so that gift certificate was a big help. Thanks again, Brandi!

Last week, I won a contest at Chic Chat sponsored by Brittany [who, FYI, is no longer blogging.]

But it gets even better than that! When Britt placed the order for my subscription, there was a special promotion...buy one year, get a second year's subscriptions free...plus a free tote! WooHoo! I should be getting my first magazine next month. Thanks again, Britt!

And today I found out I'd won another contest! Mandy at Maygreen Fairies makes these beautiful bottled mermaids, fairies, and witches. I chose a fairy...so I e-mailed her a picture of Autumn, which she'll work her magic on. It should turn out something like this:



How absolutely adorable is this??? It will be something I can keep forever and even use on my altars for sabbats. Yay! Thank you, Mandy!! I'm honored to own one of these little gems and can't wait to get it into my greedy little hands. :)

In other news, yesterday I wasn't feeling quite so lucky. I was working out in the early morning hours when Doug's laptop started loudly beeping. I thought I'd fried the hard drive in his laptop like I had in mine. I was sick. Thankfully, he was able to run a restore on the system and it's working again...just very slowly. I suspect we'll need to buy new hard drives for both our laptops now. And cooling pads too.

And, of course, since Doug had to restore the system, I lost ALL the pictures I had uploaded here. ::sigh:: Thankfully, most of them had been saved at Snapfish, so I didn't lose too many...but it's still depressing.

This is going to be a very lazy weekend for us. Maybe a trip to the park...some bowling...and just hanging out the rest of the time. Doug and I want to rent The Unborn, which just came out this past Tuesday.

Next Tuesday, Doug and I will be leaving the kiddos with my folks and heading to Columbus for the Elton John/Billy Joel concert at Nationwide Arena. I'm so excited! I've loved both these musicians for most of my life. They're legends. It should be a phenomenal show.

My favorite Elton song? No question, it's I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues. Doug and I listened to that song over and over on our honeymoon in Leavenworth, Washington.

Favorite Billy song? Oh wow. That's tough. Probably The Longest Time just because it's so much fun to sing along to...very catchy little number.

The truth is though, I like all their songs. Talk about staying power!

On Wednesday, I want to check out some of the witchy stores in the area and then we're heading to Whole Foods to get Parker stocked up on his food again.

It should be a fun time.

Big Brother starts tonight and there's a fellow from my area competing. I love this show...can't wait to watch it when Doug gets home from his walk. :) Speaking of exercise...my workouts are going quite well. I work out for 15 minutes each morning (around 8) and another 15 minutes every evening (around 9). Monday will be the start of my third week. I've dropped 3.5 pounds so far. :D

Okay...I'm off. Thinking of making a strawberry lemonade smoothie. Mmmmmm.
